Cautionary Tales for Chemists
A lament for Paul, who refused to wear his goggles

There was a boy name Paul,
Who refused to wear goggles at all!
Every day he would complain,
“These goggles are such a pain!”

The band is tight, it hurts my head,
The edges leave marks that are red.
They are dirty and I can not see;
Think of the bugs this thing must carry!

In lab one day,
Two other boys began to play,
Jason pulled Jakes hair,
And sodium hydroxide went into the air!

Paul did take one in his left eye,
And to this day he continues to cry.
It took just a single little drop,
To start the burning that will never stop.
